Did you know that every person on the planet eats about 80 kg of meat a year? People suggest that we should decrease that number by eating other sources of food too, for example vegetables or fruits. If we keep on eating the same amount of meat as we do nowadays we are going to run out of meat and we will lose a great source of protein which we all need. We can reduce it by not using lots of meat when we cook food. A salad can be as useful as meat. If you really want to eat meat then another way to reduce the waste is by buying less meat and eating it before they would spoil.
If we buy less meat, we can lower the 80 kg of waste to, for example, 40 kg. The waste is halved and so we can survive a little longer and enjoy meat for a bigger period of time.
Eating meat before it reaches its spoiling date is a great way to reduce food waste. An average American person throws away about 25% of food and drinks that he or she has bought. That is only one person out of 325 million other American. Imagine, if the households are wasting about 570 000 tonnes of meat annually, the amount of food that was wasted in the world.
Finally by planning menus with less meat used, for example by using cheese or ham, we can reduce food waste and the amount of the spent money too. A family of four spends about 2000 dollars on buying food. It is suggested that families, or anyone else on the planet, should make a shopping list and buy only the food and drinks that they need and not the things that they will not need in the near future.

I strongly agree with my classmate Peter, because the topic of his blog is very important for our future in this planet. This post is very realistic because it gives us true information about eating less meat by important people (scientists). Then this post is very helpful because it lets us understand that in the future we won't have the same quantity of meat that we have nowadays, so we should start to eat less meat. In the end I think that Peter made a very important post that will be very helpful to us in the future.
RispondiEliminaI totally agree with this blog the reason why i agree is because we buy a lot of meet that sometimes we don't even eat sometime we throw it that is really bad because meet are animal that they kill for us and its really bad and indifferent why would you buy a lot of meet and you dont eat it when you could easily give it to someone else that is starving. this blog is amazing and it has a lot of sense.
RispondiEliminaI agree with you about eating less meat. But nowadays most people love meat(me too).If we continue like this, we would not be able to eat meat in the future. Also as you said, making a shopping list can save our money and reduce food waste. People think they can consume everything before shopping, but then they waste foods and drinks. You mentioned on important topics. Congratulations for your effort!
RispondiEliminaI agree with how you think, we take food for granted at this point and the meat is one of the foods we waste the most in the world. Actually most people and scientist in the world think that meat isn't the actually the most efficient protein source on our Earth. I think that your suggestion about how we should consume food before the spoiling date, it should help us throw out less meat and this could be very useful to not contribute to the waste of meat. Thank you for writing this blog and helping us realise how much meat we are wasting and that we should stop.
